Declutter & Organize
First things first. Get started with decluttering your living spaces. Stow away your summer essentials to make space to bring out the cozy fall accessories and essentials. Fall is the season for natural and earthy textures and colors so bring out the woven and rattan baskets to organize your essentials.
Bring Out The Fall Colors
What colors do you relate with Fall? Warm hues… burnt orange, deep reds and earthy tones. Highlight them through decor, textiles and accessories while keeping your primary color scheme to be of neutral hue and woody tones. These nature-based colors are soothing and evoke feelings of calmness and peace. Paired with natural materials, fall colors will make your home feel relaxed and inviting.
Refresh Your Decor
Give your coffee table decor a refresh to bring in the Fall look & feel. Scented candles like pumpkin or apple cinnamon make a great addition here. Liven up your dining table with a fall color palette through a mix of real and faux stems and a ceramic or porcelain vase as a centerpiece. Wreaths are also a great seasonal decor accessory to bring in Fall foliage into your space. An excellent personal touch to the decor is to bring back family photos from previous years’ halloween party or thanksgiving family dinner. And lastly, bring in a bit of traditional decor with a bespoke pumpkin arrangement.
Layer It Up With Textiles
Textiles are a great medium to infuse the fall palette. You can use the fall staple patterns like plaid, checkerboard or autumn leaves/florals for pillows and throws and hand knotted rugs to complete the look. Textiles like velvet and cotton will add depth and warmth to your space by acting as excellent layering elements. And yes, take some inspiration from your seasonal wardrobe — flannel being a great example.
Deck Out Your Fireplace
What’s better than lighting up your fireplace when the outside gets cooler? It’s time to prep your fireplace. For traditional wood burning fireplace, add a stylish log holder with decorative birch logs and bring in a modern fire screen. Candles inside glass lanterns are an eye catching accessory to place beside your fireplace. For the more modern electric fireplaces, dress them up with autumn garlands along with a set of lanterns around it for added charm. And lastly, add a touch of decor to your mantle to match the Fall vibes - books, photo frames of loved ones, faux pumpkins, vintage brass pheasants, candles, and amber glass jars/vases.
